This simulator is a model of the lower part of the human torso with a detailed anatomy of the axial skeleton and it is used to practice the technique of spinal injections. The simulator is equipped with a stand that allows you to place the simulator in the standing and lying position on your side. Anatomical landmarks make it possible to perform the puncture procedure according to accepted medical practices. The imitation of the skin and underlying structures in their physical properties are close to the natural values. The spinal canal is filled with fluid, which creates maximum realism when inserting the needle.
The simulator reproduces the anatomy showing:
- vertebrae with spinous processes;
- intervertebral disc;
- spinal nerve roots;
- yellow ligament;
- lumbar sympathetic trunk;
- the dura mater.
Functional features:
- the removable part of the simulator is made in the form of a block of tissues of the lumbosacral region with palpable bone landmarks;
- the functional unit contains removable inserts to simulate the ligamentous apparatus and muscle tissue;
- the precise anatomy of the sacral region allows you to perform the sacral anesthesia procedure;
- imitation of the ligamentous apparatus and the dura mater provide resistance, and then the sensation of the needle sinking into the subdural space.
Practiced skills:
- spinal anesthesia;
- lumbar puncture;
- epidural anesthesia;
- lumbar sympathetic block and sacral plexus block;
- caudal anesthesia.
The simulator can be used by students of universities and medical colleges in the course of accreditation.
