This simulator is a life-size model of the thumb of the lower limb of a person, that is made of polymer materials, visually and mechanically similar to human tissue. The model is securely fixed on a horizontal surface.
On the distal phalanx, signs of inflammation associated with the ingrowth of the nail into soft tissues are reproduced. This fragment of the model is easily replaced.
The simulator provides the opportunity to practice the following skills:
- performing local anesthesia,
- wedge-shaped and complete excision of the nail,
- imitation of nail bed localization and ablation,
- sutures and bandages.
The simulator is designed for using in medical educational institutions.
